The Silent Circle

The Silent Circle is a space poem that expresses the three fundamental phases of a person's life (Youth, Maturity, Elderhood) as it orbits the Earth at an altitude of 570 km. Three separate animations, directly exposed to the harsh space environment, convey the three phases of human life through orbital insertions in 2024 (MORNING), 2025 (MIDDAY), and 2026 (MIDNIGHT). The three-year work matches the poetics of human life with the life cycle of the satellite, which also lasts for three years.

Adsum

Ongoing

Kac's space poem Adsum was conceived for the Moon. As a test, it flew to the International Space Station in 2022.

Syzygy

2023/2030

The spacecraft Europa Clipper is headed to Jupiter’s moon Europa, and includes a microchip with the poem Syzygy, specially written for this jovian voyage. The launch is scheduled for October 10, 2024, with arrival at Jupiter in 2030. The mission duration is 3.5 years.

Kac's space poem Inner Telescope was specifically conceived for zero gravity and was made in space.
